Ava DuVernay and Autumn Riley

The birth of DuVernay's daughter took place on the 24th day of August 1972, in Long Beach California. DuVernay was able to explore her artistic and creative side as a child, thanks to Aunt Denise. She was night nurses to afford her aunt the space she required during the day for the love of literature, art and theatre. DuVernay would use her summers in Alabama to inspire her next film, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. DuVernay finished Saint Joseph High School at Lakewood, California in 1990. In the year 1990, she completed her studies at Saint Joseph High school in Lakewood, California. As in school, DuVernay became interested in producing for television journalism. She worked as a CBS News intern during the O.J. Simpson trial. DuVernay recalled being instructed to examine the garbage of the home of a juror. As a result of her tasks, she became dissatisfied with journalism and moved into the publicity business. DuVernay got a job right after college as a new publicist at a studio. Her first venture was The DuVernay Agency, her public relations firm in 1999. In addition to PR her agency launched a number of lifestyle and promotional networks including The Urban Beauty Collective, Urban Thought Collective, Urban Eye and HelloBeautiful.
