Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was an actress on television, ex-chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers straightforward, simple techniques to master to cook at home in her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell has worked and studied at the top New York restaurants. He was also a part of Iron Chef America and the cuisine of Italy. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled following her graduation with an English degree as well as a communications diploma in Canisius College Buffalo NY. I loved every minute of being a student in The Culinary Institute of America she says. I couldn't be more educated or accomplished in my studies. After graduating, Burrell spent one year learning at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. While in Italy, she developed an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian cuisine and its culture. It has had a profound impact on how Burrell prepares her food. Burrell was an Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board member, which aims to increase the lives of children who face obstacles. Burrell also serves as an Juvenile Disease Research Foundation celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about children's diabetes. Burrell travels extensively across the United States in her position as both a mentor and an invited speaker, where she talks about her career and love of cooking. Anne said she felt lucky in that she could share her true passion with other people.
